A ducted system heats and cools the whole house from one unit in the roof space, with only discreet ceiling grilles showing in each room. With zoning you only run the rooms you are using, and that cuts running costs more than anything else.

Ducted work needs design before anyone picks up a drill. Duct sizing, grille placement, return-air position and the fan-coil location all decide whether the system is quiet and even or noisy and patchy. Our team designs commercial air systems for a living and brings the same approach to your home.

Installer connecting flexible ducting to a fan-coil unit in a roof cavity

What is included

  • Room-by-room heat load calculation
  • Duct layout and grille plan for even airflow
  • Fan-coil unit in the roof space with return-air grille
  • Zone dampers and wall controller (Wi-Fi control optional)
  • Insulated ducting to every room
  • Outdoor unit position chosen for noise and access
  • Electrical work and Certificate of Compliance
  • Commissioning with airflow balanced at every grille

How it works

  1. Site assessment

We check the roof space, ceiling height and access, then measure every room.

  2. Design and quote

You get a layout showing grille positions, zones and the equipment, with a fixed price.

  3. Install and balance

Usually one to two days. Every grille is balanced and the system is commissioned before handover.

Questions people ask

Will a ducted system fit my existing home?

Most Auckland homes with a pitched roof have enough space. We check access, clearance for the fan-coil and where ducts can run during the site visit. Flat-roof or low-pitch homes sometimes suit a multi-room system instead.

Is ducted expensive to run?

With zoning, no. You heat or cool the rooms in use rather than the whole house. A well-designed ducted system in a reasonably insulated home is one of the most efficient ways to heat every room.

Can I control it from my phone?

Yes. Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Panasonic ducted systems all offer Wi-Fi controllers for scheduling and per-zone control.
